Neutron Scattering Study of Magnetic Excitations in Uranium Ditelluride
ORAL
Abstract
The heavy fermion superconductor uranium ditelluride (UTe2) hosts mulitple high-field superconducting phases, some of which may be topologically nontrivial, and features strong f-electron correlations. In this talk, I will discuss inelastic neutron scattering experiments that probe the magnetic field sensitivity of the dominant magnetic excitations, which are related to the f-electron hybridization in the normal state. These magnetic excitations are strongest along the Brilloiun zone edge at energies of approximately 4 meV. Our results will be discussed in the context of the magnetic properties, superconductivity, and high-field phase diagram of this material.
