Making Science Accessible, Fun, and Inspiring for Everyone
ORAL
Abstract
As President of the International Society of Muslim Women in Science (ISMWS), I am committed to promoting scientific curiosity and understanding across the community. Recognizing the role of women as influential educators within families, I aim to foster scientific temper among them so they can inspire future generations to appreciate and pursue science. To achieve this, I have organized poster competitions that allow participants to creatively express scientific concepts and share their ideas with broader audiences, promoting peer learning and confidence. In addition, I engage the general public through visually appealing science content on my Instagram channel (the most popular social media in my country), including posts highlighting Nobel laureates and their contributions. I also maintain a website where I translate complex scientific research into accessible insights for a broader audience. I provide free physics-themed downloadable wallpapers and creative physics-themed bookmarks to make science fun, engaging, and inspiring in everyday life. I have also delivered public talks on physics topics, attended enthusiastically by audiences of all genders. Through these initiatives, I strive to break cultural stigmas, nurture curiosity, and build an inclusive environment where science is accessible, engaging, and inspiring for everyone.
*Primarily self-funded, with support from ISMWS as awards to winners for some events.
