The Design,Construction, and Goals of the LUX Dark Matter Search Experiment
ORAL
Abstract
The LUX (Large Underground Xenon) experiment will be the world's most sensitive search experiment for the dark matter candidate known as the WIMP (Weakly Interacting Massive Particle). It is currently under construction and will be deployed in the Davis Cavern at Homestake Mine in South Dakota later this fall. The design, construction, and physics reach will be discussed.
