Compact MRI of the breast: new magnetostatics and new superconducting materials for affordable breast screening

ORAL

Abstract

MRI imaging of the breast has been shown to provide enhanced early detection of breast cancer, but whole-body is not affordable for screening. New magnetostatics and new superconducting materials make it possible to produce homogeneous magnetic field at both breasts using a compact magnet that is suitable for staging in a doctor's office or mobile van.
