META parton distribution functions

Abstract

I present a general method for computation of uncertainties in parton distribution functions based on meta-parametrizations. The method streamlines combination of PDF uncertainties from various groups (CTEQ, MMHT, NNPDF) in collider applications such as production of Higgs bosons and new physics searches. A new recommendation by the PDF4LHC group for computation of PDF uncertainties in LHC applications using combined PDF sets will be reviewed.
