The Impact of Next-Generation X-ray Telescopes on Constraining Neutron Star Equations of State
ORAL
Abstract
The NICER X-ray telescope is currently providing highly accurate measurements of neutron star radii, helping to refine our understanding of their structure. Future X-ray telescopes will improve these measurements, allowing even more precise calculations. These measurements are crucial for constraining the neutron star equation of state (EoS), which describes how matter behaves at extremely high densities. In this study, we investigate how improvements in measurement accuracy lead to tighter constraints on the EoS. By generating synthetic data and applying Bayesian analysis, we are able to extract the parameters of the EoS and evaluate how increased precision in radius measurements impacts the confidence in these constraints.
