Physics Teacher Education - Problems and Solutions

Abstract

The problems associated with obtaining a sufficient quantity of high school physics teachers are well know. What is not so well known are the approaches that can be used to increase the number of physics teacher education majors, how to best prepare them, and how to retain them in the classroom. The speaker will talk about several approaches from Illinois that appear to be addressing that state's needs.
