Coulomb distortion and medium corrections in breakup reactions

ORAL

Abstract

We study the effect of final state interactions and of medium modifications of the nucleon-nucleon (NN) cross sections on the nucleon knockout reactions. We compare the results obtained with and without these effects to check their relevance in the extraction of spectroscopic factors. Our results are compared to published experimental data for total nucleon-removal cross sections and for momentum distribution of fragments. It is shown that final state interactions (mainly Coulomb distortion) and medium effects leads to some relevant modifications of quantities extracted.
