Estimation of the Stochastic Gravitational Wave Background from binary mergers
POSTER
Abstract
*I was selected to the highly-competitive LIGO Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program at Caltech and was awarded $7,100 fellowship to continue and extend my research on GW astrophysics. I was also sponsored by LIGO to visit LIGO Hanford so as to explore the complexities of the Stochastic Gravitational Wave Background (SGWB) and its implications on future detectors.
Publication: Published my paper titled, 'Estimation of the Stochastic Gravitational Wave Background from Binary Mergers', with my research findings in the LIGO Document Control Center (LIGO Document T2300416-x0), LIGO Laboratory, in April 2024 (dcc.ligo.org/LIGO-T2300195/public; https://dcc.ligo.org/LIGO-T2300416/public), with the abstract featured in the 'Student Faculty Program 2023 Caltech Abstract Book' (sfp.caltech.edu/documents/26856/Compiled_Abstract_Book_23.pdf).
I was also invited to give Oral Talks on my research at four key conferences, including the 2024 National Conference for Undergraduate Research (NCUR), 2023 Southern California Conference for Undergraduate Research (SCCUR), 2023 Caltech SURF Seminar Day, and 2023 LIGO SURF Seminar Day.
