Abstract

The novel technologies in the field of particle accelerators, emerging at a rapid pace, are driving the need for high energy physics research laboratories of the Department of Energy in United States, as well as other particle accelerator industrial centers, to stay current and renew the technical workforce, including technicians, engineers, and scientists. In this regard, this paper presents the implementation of a state-of-the-art training program in Accelerator Science and Technology for STEM students at New York City College of Technology. Developed through a long-term collaboration between Brookhaven National Laboratory and the City University of New York, the program aims to strengthen the pipeline of skilled professionals in the accelerator workforce. The continuous improvement plan is presented alongside with the implementation strategies, the delivery, and assessment methods.
