An ideal limit of Rhombohedral Multilayer Graphene: interaction-induced layer skyrmion lattice

ORAL

Abstract

We introduce an ideal limit of Rhombohedral Multilayer Graphene. We show, purely using real space perspective, that a layer skyrmion texture is stabilized in the ground state by short-range interaction. The skyrmion picture allows us to analytically write down the wavefunction of the corresponding topological band, which we show smoothly evolves out of the ideal limit into the realistic scenario. The methodology presented in this talk applies to a general category of Hamiltonian, of which Rhombohedral Multilayer Graphene is a special case.
