qBook: A hands-on cloud-based course platform to learn quantum computing and its applications
ORAL
Abstract
The rapid growth of the quantum computing industry has created an urgent need for scalable and accessible workforce training. By 2040, demand for skilled quantum professionals is expected to outpace graduates in quantum technology by nearly threefold. To address this gap, qBraid has developed qBook, an interactive learning platform integrated with qBraid Lab, a cloud-based environment providing access to over 25 quantum devices and 20 software frameworks. Together, these tools enable students to experiment, test algorithms, and visualize quantum concepts directly within their coursework. qBook and qBraid Lab have been deployed in classrooms, hackathons, and regional training programs, empowering hundreds of students to gain hands-on experience. qBook's introductory course was endorsed by the White House Q12 initiative, and has over 20,000 students enrolled. It has been used by universities, quantum computing clubs, and quantum curious individuals. Custom course content on qBook by quantum companies like Quera and Q-CTRL has been used to develop further technical skills in the quantum field. This talk will highlight the architecture of these platforms, their integration into educational programs, and their impact on advancing global quantum literacy and workforce development.
