Building Quantum Readiness: Scalable Education and Workforce Training through the qBraid Platform
ORAL
Abstract
As quantum technologies advance from laboratory research to early-stage commercialization, the demand for a skilled quantum workforce has become a critical bottleneck in the field’s progress. Despite growing interest, many educational institutions lack the computational infrastructure and expertise required to provide students with hands-on experience in quantum programming and hardware access.
To address this gap, qBraid has partnered with enterprise organizations, universities, and regional quantum programs to build workforce development pipelines, focused on education, upskilling, and real world training. In this presentation, workforce development initiatives from North Carolina and South Carolina are presented, focusing on training, upskilling, and continued participation in the quantum ecosystem. The success of this work has been possible through cross-organizational initiatives, lowering the barrier to entry for quantum education and research. This work presents a successful model for such upskilling and workforce development that can be replicated beyond the Carolinas, with qBraid’s role in enabling equitable, cloud-based access to quantum computing resources worldwide.
