Soliton-antisoliton pairs in the supersymmetric phase of an interacting Majorana chain
ORAL
Abstract
A strongly interacting chain of Majorana fermions exhibits the supersymmetric tricritical Ising phase with supersymmetry extending into a symmetry-broken ordered phase adjacent to the tricritical point. Focusing on the first excited state of this system in the supersymmetric gapped phase, we show that the excitations are soliton-antisoliton pairs between ordered regions. The soliton and the antisoliton each harbor an emergent localized Majorana mode. The occupation of the Dirac mode comprised of these two emergent Majoranas distinguishes the eigenstates with even and odd fermion parity.
