Scalable quantum logic using spin qubits in diamond

Abstract

Optically active spin qubits in diamond are a promising material for a variety of quantum-based applications, including quantum information processing, quantum communication, and quantum sensing. In this talk, we will present a spin-based solid-state architecture for a scalable quantum register consisting of strongly dipolarly coupled NV center electron spins. We will demonstrate how isotopic engineering of diamond can create regularly ordered arrays of nuclear spins that can be utilised in quantum simulators. We will also discuss the application of GeV centres for the realisation of a light-matter quantum interface,
